The Amazon Smart Plug can be used to turn on or off the mobile charger, lamp, kettle, and other appliances as well, however, it should not be used for heavy appliances such as AC, geyser, or water heater.
With the Amazon Smart Plug, customers can add smart control to their existing appliances by pairing the smart plug with a compatible Alexa device ( like Echo smart speakers ) for hands-free voice control.
The Smart Plug works with Amazon Alexa's voice control and can be accessed remotely using the free Kasa app on your smartphone.
According to Amazon, the device has a 6A power rating and comes with a 'state retention' feature which helps appliances go back to their last state ( on / off ) in case of a power outage and resumption. The smart device can be set up easily by plugging it into an electrical socket and setting up with the help of the Alexa app.
It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and does not work in the 5 GHz band. The router lets you do things like shut off or pause the Wi-Fi with voice commands -- features that will later come to other routers from TP-Link, Asus, Linsky, and Arris by way of an API.
